From One Event To The Next.....

Well happy hump day peeps!

I can't believe that this is my first post for the week:(

I have so much material to share!

Tonight, I'm going to focus on two things. A recap of Portobello West and I need to tell you about an event that is hitting Calgary this week-end.

Last Friday, I went with some friends to Portobello West and I was "wowed" again by some talented people. I would say that it was a pretty good turnout for a Friday night. It was just enough people to indicate that the week-end would be another successful event.

There were a few people that I had the pleasure of seeing at the previous event, but there was a lot of new peeps that I was exposed to for the first time.....

Here were my faves.....

Lindsay Saunders of Cinder and Sage
(Now there is a necklace that I must get for myself. It's whimsical yet functional - a necklace with a tiny "working" harmonica!!! How cute is that! Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to get a close up, but if you take a look at photo #2 - it's the necklace on the far right)

Olga Cottell of Oladesign
(Her miniaturized prints are fixated to the mirrors, pendants & magnets - love it!)

Maureen McEelhinney of Mack Designs
(The blue earrings in photo #2 caught my eye)

Brook Fung of Peeko Apparel
(I could totally see myself wearing this)

Hoakon/Helga
(My friend Alyshia bought this wicked clutch - another fab find)

Red Jade
(Love this coat!)

Again my final verdict on Portobello West is the same as it was the last time - so worth it. Can't wait for the next one:)

Now before I head off for the night, I want to tell you about an event that's taking place this week-end in Calgary.

April 16 & 17th marks the 1st annual Calgary Burlesque Festival (in support of the Marsha Ellen Meidow Foundation)

This is going to be an amazing event and I'm sure that people are going to be talking about it for a long time......

Friday Randomness......

Well it snowed last night (argh!) and it didn't get as warm as I wanted it to today.....

So there's still snow on the ground. It actually took like 20 minutes to scrape off my car. Let's just say that I was not happy:(

The video that I'm about to post today had me cracking up! I've literally watched this video more than 10 times already.....

Happy Friday y'all

Portobello West Hits Calgary Tomorrow Through Sunday!

I went to Portobello West last year and I'm excited to head back to this amazing "art market" tomorrow night! There's gonna be over 80 clothing, jewelry, accessory designers & artists from Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver & Toronto!

It's a 3 day event y'all - April 9, 10 & 11 at the Big Four Building, Stampede Park.

I *heart* this event because it is all about supporting local talent and you know that's what I'm all about:)

My long time followers may remember an interview that I posted with Carlie Smith, Director of Portabello West Market - If you didn't get the chance to read it back in September of 2009, then Click HERE for a recap.

Here's a showcase of some of the items that you can expect to see this upcoming week-end. So, if you're in Calgary, come on out and support some Canadian talent. It's a great place to pick up a unique, one-of-a-kind item!

Stay tuned for my recap~

Broken Ghost Couture - Jana Foehrenbach
(I have interviewed Jana for UrbanAces Magazine - the site is being revamped, so the interview hasn't been posted yet - keep an eye out for it soon! I will definitely keep you posted)

Well Easter Has Come And Gone......

If y'all celebrated Easter, then I hope that it was a good one:)

I know that winter is now a thing of the past (at least for this year), but Easter long week-end has definitely got me feeling that Spring has sprung....

I have some lovely items to show you tonight, thanks to a lovely visit I had with Sarah Murray - Director of The Honey Mustard, http://www.thehoneymustard.com/ almost two weeks ago.

If you're wondering what The Honey Mustard is? Well let me fill you in real quick. The Honey Mustard is a media relations company for local independant designers in Western Canada.

The designers that you are about to see are represented by this company. Get ready for a fresh look at fashion~
