I've Finally Caved In......

There's a craze that's been going on for quite some time now and I've finally decided to post some photos about it......

I'm talking about the fascination with the Mustache. Yep.... the Mustache has been popping up on any item that you can possibly think of lately; from mugs to vinyl stickers and t-shirts to greeting cards.

I've even heard of people hosting Mustache parties and

So, thanks to an email I received from a co-worker today, I figured it would be fun to show you some products that are definitely "Mustache inspired"~

I Just Came Back From A Fab Fashion Show By LARA PRESBER!.....

Happy Thursday peeps!

Hope the week's been going great for everyone, (and if it hasn't....just think the week-end's just around the corner cause it's Friday tomorrow!!!)

Well, a couple of days ago, I told you that I got an invite to a fashion show and trunk sale at 100 Wines....Well tonight was the event and I'm happy that I showed up~

#1. The event's location (100 Wines by David Walker - located at 1109 Olympic Way SE) was a posh spot with a spacious interior. Playing on the "art gallery" vibe; bottles of wine lined three walls with info labels & pricing.

I found this to be a fantastic idea, because the evening included wine "on the house" and the white wine that I enjoyed was absolutely "to die for"........

Thanks to David's genius idea of displaying his wine collection, I discovered that I had been drinking bottle #37; a Cabernet Sauvignon (Charles Smith, 2006)

#2. The hors d'oeurves were scrumptious. My absolute fave was a spinach filled puff pastry that was absolutely amazing. In fact, I was thinking of a scheme to smuggle a handful on my way out. But, I didn't have the guts to do it lol...instead I grabbed two when leaving:)

#3. Prior to the main event, a trunk sale took place. So, you had a chance to browse through Lara Presber's fall collection. It was a great way to get a preview of Lara's talented skills. I had quite a few faves, but found that the photo's that I took, just didn't do the items the justice that it truly deserves.....So I'll only post a photo of one (out of the 4 racks of designs that were available for sale this evening)

#4. The Spring 2010 Fashion show by Lara Presber was fantastic! As I mentioned, the event location was spacious, so even though it was "standing only", my view was perfect. It was an intimate show (without being "too" intimate). We had the pleasure of seeing an array of timeless pieces that would be a wonderful addition to any woman's wardrobe. Although you may not notice this in the photos that I am about to post, the accent buttons, used on these garments are absolutely lovely:)

Lara Presber's inspiring designs is currently available in select stores in Canada. (Click HERE to visit her site for more info)

However, good news for Calgarians, cause Lara's Flagship store and studio space will be opening December 1, 2009 (that's a tentative date, I might add) in Fashion Central!

I'm out peeps....

These Boots Are Made For Walking........

Before I get into my post tonight, I want let y'all know that I received a wonderful surprise today!!!
Staci at Just Boggled: When Life Gets A Little Baffling presented me with the Honesty Scrap Award!!! I feel so honoured:)
Thank-you Staci!

Now, there are some rules for the recipient of this award.

#1. I need to tell you 10 honest things about myself that you don't already know

#2. I need to forward this fab award to 7 bloggers whose blogs I find brilliant in content and/or design or who have encouraged me

#3. I need to tell these 7 lovely people that I have given them the Honest Scrap Award.

You'd think that I'd be able to list 10 (honest) things in a heartbeat, but honestly? My mind has drawn a blank...... I was so focused on my blog post tonight that I can't think of anything interesting to write. Seriously, thanks to my friend Ghyslaine, my mind has been filled with the fiercest boots all day. So, rather than bore you to death, I'm going to give myself a couple of days to gather my thoughts. Then I'll post my answers and reveal the 7 bloggers that I've selected to pass this amazing award to~

So, since I've been thinking about boots since 8:30 in the AM, I figured I need to post about it. It is the season to start thinking about adding a pair to your existing collection (if you haven't already done so) and I think I've found some amazing options!

Some of you may already know that I got a pair of fab boots (courtesy of Little Burgundy Shoes) when I posted about their store opening in Calgary (Click Here to read about it)

I am still crazy about them, but a girl can't have too many boots in her closet, right?

So, feast your eyes on some lovely finds, (both brand spanking new & vintage)

Shoes.com had a vast selection of boots to choose from. I haven't even viewed everything that they have to offer.......But these babies definitely caught my eye. (Note - if you like any one of these boots, just click on the photo that you fancy and it will take you straight to product page on their site)

Then I scoured the Etsy site for some Vintage boots! My-oh-my! There was a huge selection to choose from as well. It wasn't easy, but I narrowed it down to a few faves~

If You Live In Edmonton.....I've Got Some Yummy News!

Some friends of mine, gave me the inside scoop about a lovely bakery that recently opened in Edmonton, Alberta (October 2nd to be exact).....so I just had to spread the word:)

Duchess Bake Shop (located at 10720 124 Street NW), is definitely worth a visit. Since, I haven't had the chance to drop by this new "hot spot" , I decided to do a little research......you know, to see what people have been saying.....
Well, there's quite a "buzz" spreading about on the internet about this place. And I've read nothing but rave reviews!!!

Let's start off with the shop's interior space. With the help of family and friends, the decor at Duchess Bake Shop's gives off a "touch of class". In fact, the photos that I've seen reveal an airy open space with beautiful architecture, crown moldings, a fabulous chandelier, fresh flowers and furnishings that are simply divine~
Since, I am a visual person, I've gotta tell you....... I was hooked on this shop by these photos alone.....

Now it's time to reveal some of the baked goods that you can expect to indulge in at Duchess Bakery Shop. Choose from delectable pies, petit macaroons, buttery yet flaky croissants, dark chocolate-coated eclairs or scrumptious sandwiches . I have simply listed a few items but there is a multitude of options available. Thanks to my friend's recent visit to this shop over the past weekend, I had the pleasure of enjoying an earl grey shortbread cookie yesterday. My verdict??? Absolutely delicious.....it literally melted in my mouth!!! And that my friends, became the second reason why I have fallen in love with this bakery.

I've learned (through a quick visit to their site), that all products are made in house entirely from scratch. Peeps....that means no mixes, no preservatives and no short cuts. Well after devouring that cookie? I believe it:)

I make a couple trips to Edmonton each year, so I'll be swinging by for a treat next time I'm in town~

Note - As of October 26, 2009 the hours at Duchess Bake Shop are:
