I Should Have Taken A Photo.....But I Didn't~
Hope you had a happy Thursday:)
I meant to post an interview last night, but I forgot my notebook with all the info at work yesterday. I had a lot of things on my mind - mainly the snowstorm that was supposed to hit our city today. Yep that's right I said snowstorm.... It's just about 2 days away from May and I just experienced a snow storm!!!
It started yesterday with rain, which turned to sleet, then flurries mixed with some serious wind. This morning I woke up to snow and had to brush my car off!!! Seriously, it took me like 5 minutes to get my car cleaned off.
So, I was going to take a photo, but I didn't want to have evidence of the craziness that was going on.....
I am glad to say that it is now 11:01pm and there isn't any snow on the roads, (at least not in my area). Of course, there are visible remnants here and there, but the 20-30cm that was expected, didn't happen....
So, I am saving my interview for tomorrow night. I think that it will be a great way to end the week:)
Instead, I just want to feature some unique items that I discovered today on the net....
Fred & Friends is a fab creative company that gives you "stuff that works, puts a smile on your face and doesn't cost you a fortune" - my kinda company:)

Ooh I Was In The Paper Today!!
It turned out to be a lovely day after all, even though there was a moment during the day where it looked like snow flurries were attacking my city.
I got a lovely email this morning from Aleece Germano (co-founder of the SWAP team), congratulating me on a great article I was interviewed for in The Calgary Herald.
I did an interview last week with Trent Edwards, Features Writer and Men's Issues Columnist.
Well y'all it was published today!

In Celebration of Earth Week~
It was another gorgeous one today and there's nothing but good news where the weather's concerned over the next few days....
Since it's Earth Week, I decided to feature a company called NATE Organics. Created by Adam Katz in 2004, it's a clothing company that's committed to high quality conscious clothing. Made from organic cotton, this line "screams" environmental & social awareness. I was impressed to learn that NATE Organics also produces domestically and uses entirely eco-friendly dyes and inks in their production processes.
So feast your eyes on some designs that depict, comfort, consciousness & style~
The photos that I'm about to show you are from Vancouver Fashion Week 2009
These photos are by Wayne Mah
I have been lucky enough to receive a Tank and a T from NATE Organics! I truly love them and wear both items often:)

I Just Saw The Cutest Thing This Morning!!!
Last night I went to the 1st Annual Burlesque Festival. I loved it!!! I'll have a proper recap in a few days. Although I took a lot of notes, I didn't have my camera with me. So, I've requested some photos and will post my re-cap early next week....
The idea for today's post came from another blogger - Rachelle Soucy . We have something in common. The fascination for miniatures!
My love of miniatures started as a child when I discovered the "doll house"...
A few years ago, I hunted on Etsy and Ebay for doll houses and miniatures to collect - but never actually made a purchase:(
After seeing Miniatures by Annina - I was blown away! This takes "miniatures" to a whole other level. Annina creates rooms that seem "real" & "livable". If only I could shrink to the size of a dime - I would totally move into these rooms:)
Have a look at my faves - the details are superb!
1luv peeps~

From One Event To The Next.....
I can't believe that this is my first post for the week:(
I have so much material to share!
Tonight, I'm going to focus on two things. A recap of Portobello West and I need to tell you about an event that is hitting Calgary this week-end.
Last Friday, I went with some friends to Portobello West and I was "wowed" again by some talented people. I would say that it was a pretty good turnout for a Friday night. It was just enough people to indicate that the week-end would be another successful event.
There were a few people that I had the pleasure of seeing at the previous event, but there was a lot of new peeps that I was exposed to for the first time.....
Here were my faves.....
Lindsay Saunders of Cinder and Sage
(Now there is a necklace that I must get for myself. It's whimsical yet functional - a necklace with a tiny "working" harmonica!!! How cute is that! Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to get a close up, but if you take a look at photo #2 - it's the necklace on the far right)
Olga Cottell of Oladesign
(Her miniaturized prints are fixated to the mirrors, pendants & magnets - love it!)
Maureen McEelhinney of Mack Designs
(The blue earrings in photo #2 caught my eye)
Brook Fung of Peeko Apparel
(I could totally see myself wearing this)
Hoakon/Helga
(My friend Alyshia bought this wicked clutch - another fab find)
Red Jade
(Love this coat!)
Again my final verdict on Portobello West is the same as it was the last time - so worth it. Can't wait for the next one:)
Now before I head off for the night, I want to tell you about an event that's taking place this week-end in Calgary.
