Where Have I Been?

I've been MIA again:(

I've gotta thank my lack of organizational skills for that. It was roughly this time last year that I was in need of a new notebook, (without one I am truly lost).

I currently have two note books in tow which are filled to capacity. So I went shopping for another one last week, but couldn't decide on "the one".

Instead, I've been organizing my life on scraps of paper and post it notes. Let's just say that it hasn't been working.....

I will get my act together by the week-end lol. A visit to Chapter's is a must!!!

Let me fill you in on what I'll be up to tonight.

There's the Photo Show at the Gallery tonight. So I'm heading out in 45 minutes to check it out.



3 different projects will be on display showcasing talented Calgary photographers.

There's the Building Project by Heather Saitz - a showcase of two historic Calgary apartment complexes and the vibrant community that exists within them.

Then there's the Amplifier Project by Lindsey Baker & Justin LaFontaine - an exhibit that portrays people and their amplifiers.

Lastly, there's The Focus Project by Randy Gibson that takes you on the journey of being in focus and out of focus.

Fashions For The Rain....

It's been raining quite a bit here in Calgary and I've got to be honest, I'm not lovin it. There are only so many days that I handle seeing gray skies. I know that we got a break with a gorgeous week-end, but last week was filled with rain as well.

Today, was another dreary day (as per usual) with periods of light rain. Nothing to complain about really until I left work. The downpour of rain was intense. And,the fact that I was wearing flip flops, didn't help at all....

I arrived home "damp", (even with my trusty umbrella) and realized that I just might want to add to my rain gear collection.

So, I surfed the net for some stylish pieces to tackle the rain in.

It's a great day for Canadian Hip Hop~

Toronto is experiencing "Drizzy" pandemonium today!!!

It's official y'all, Drake's debut album "Thank Me Later" is now in stores.

As a transplanted Torontonian, I've gotta say that I wish that I was back in the city to witness the Drizzy craziness today.

To be honest though, the world is showin Drake some mad love today. The twitter feeds have been going crazy!

I've listened to most of the album and I'm very satisfied - proud as hell....

I'm gonna cop the album this evening!

I know this commercial has been out for a while, but I just saw it today....I think it's mad cool, so I had to share:)

What Are You Reading?

A girlfriend of mine lent me her copy of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" yesterday and I'm already starting to get hooked.

It's quite the read with more than 800 pages, but I've heard nothing but good things. People have been saying that it's twisted and intense. I happen to love thrillers, mysteries and suspense filled novels - I'm gonna love this!

Just saw the subtitled trailer for the film on youtube today.

Ooh....I'm so excited to see it!

I Heard It Through The Facebook Vine:)

Calgary, be prepared for a lovely addition to Chinook Mall real soon. Think romantic, frills, soft, sipping tea, dainty, reading, serenity, glow.......(can you see the theme?)

Well I got the tip early this morning while searching through Facebook updates and I am happy to say that Anthropologie is coming to Calgary!

If you have never been to the site and love "things from days past", then you must pay Anthropologie a visit. It's one-stop shopping at it's best from clothing to jewelry/accessories and dining to bathroom decor, plus more!

I'd say that it's quite the triumph for Calgary - can't wait to make a visit~

Happy B-Day To Me~

Well y'all, I have officially turned another year today and I feel as fierce as ever!

It's been a fab week-end with friends & fam and I have a feeling that big things are gonna happen for me this year~

Second-Hand Clothing As Art?

So y'all know that I organized a clothing swap in my city recently. I'm truly passionate about the concept of holding on to clothing that I wear and getting rid of what I no longer have use for.


So, a friend of mine forwarded this to me over the week-end and I think it's the coolest......


Meet Derick Melander, an artist who creates large structures of carefully folded & stacked second-hand clothing.

He pays a great deal of attention to how the clothing is layered. The process itself adds a layer to the finished piece.

Here's a little tidbit of information that I learned.....

3,615 pounds of textile waste is created by New Yorkers alone every 5 minutes - Crazy!!

I've Lacked The Motivation To Write Lately......

Over the past couple of days, I've lacked the motivation to write.....

I'm just stuck in a "rut" right now where I'm bored with absolutely everything.

I've gotta get my ''groove" back and fast lol. I think that my "laxidazy" (that's a new word of mine), has to do with the fact that I'm missing home - Toronto that is....

And seeing this video the other day, didn't help.
